Electrician mounts the unit
Your electrician mounts the SepticSense box next to the 120DA panel, taps L1 and N for panel power, and runs a 4-wire signal harness to the terminal block. About 30 minutes of work.

You connect to Wi-Fi
Power on and connect your phone to the "SepticSense-XXXX" network. A setup page opens automatically — select your home Wi-Fi, enter your password, enter your device ID. Done.

Common questions.

Does this work with my existing SPI 120DA panel?
Yes — SepticSense is designed specifically for the SPI 120DA simplex dosing controller. It uses your existing SJE PumpMaster float switches and requires no modifications to your panel hardware.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
The power connection (two wires to L1 and N in the panel) should be performed by a licensed electrician — this is standard low-current 115V work. All other connections are low-voltage signal wires that a mechanically inclined homeowner can do in under 30 minutes.
What happens if my Wi-Fi goes down?
SepticSense automatically switches to LTE cellular within seconds of losing Wi-Fi. The dashboard shows "Cellular" instead of "Wi-Fi" so you always know which transport is active. Your monitoring never has a gap.
What happens during a power outage?
The built-in 18650 battery takes over instantly — no interruption, no reboot. SepticSense immediately sends a power-loss alert via cellular. Battery runtime is 8–12 hours depending on activity level. When mains power returns, a "power restored" notification is sent.
Can I control my pump remotely?
No — and this is intentional. SepticSense is read-only by design. Your 120DA panel hardware controls the pump exclusively. The only remote action available is silencing the audible alarm buzzer. This protects your system from accidental remote changes and limits liability.
Can I cancel the monthly plan?
Yes, cancel anytime from your account page with no penalties. When cancelled, your cellular SIM is deactivated and monitoring switches to Wi-Fi only (if your hardware plan permits).
